To Restore America, Restore America

The erosion of the family in America has been aided and abetted by irresponsible social programs discouraging individual responsibility, especially that of fathers. We note that the school shooters in Parkland, Sandy Hook, and Uvalde all came from fatherless homes.

Such well-meaning but deleterious policies encouraged family irresponsibility alongside its logical companion, the expansion of abortion.

But Roe v. Wade wasn’t the only disaster fomented by the Supreme Court.

In Engel v. Vitale (1962), the Court banned public schools from sponsoring a voluntary, nondenominational prayer.

In Abington School District v. Schempp (1963), the Court declared that school-sponsored Bible reading was unconstitutional.

In Stone v. Graham (1980), the Court declared that posting the Ten Commandments on the wall of public school classrooms was unconstitutional.

In Wallace v. Jaffree (1985), the Court ruled that authorizing a one-minute period of silence in all public schools “for meditation or voluntary prayer” was unconstitutional.

As Secretary of State, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recognized that restoration of the body politic requires restoration of America’s soul. Today he argues that an America restored can be a beacon to a world desperately in need of restoration and renewal, in freedom and at peace.
