In a 2017 address in Rome, Dr. Thomas Ward, President of the John Paul II Academy for Human Life and the Family, recounted how both Western European bishops and Planned Parenthood’s “Friends in the Vatican” almost succeeded in removing the rights of parents and of poor Third-World families from the Charter of the Rights of the Family (published in 1983).
The “War on Parents and Humane Vitae” reached all the way into the Vatican – in the 1980’s!
